Letter of Support for AAPI Communities from the Annenberg Faculty

The faculty of the Annenberg School stands with the Asian, Asian-American, and Pacific Islander communities in the face of senseless attacks.

By Annenberg School Faculty

Dear Annenberg Community,

The faculty of the Annenberg School for Communication is saddened, horrified, and angered by the targeted killing of six women of Asian descent in Atlanta. These senseless murders come after a dramatic increase in verbal and physical attacks against members of the Asian, Asian-American, and Pacific Islander communities, accompanied by a long history of racism against AAPI communities.

These attacks are an affront to our entire community. We cherish diversity at Annenberg because it makes us better, and it makes us stronger. We reaffirm our commitments to inclusivity, anti-racism, anti-sexism, and anti-xenophobia.

To Annenberg’s Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islanders: We stand with you. We support you.

We encourage all community members to check out the resources provided by the Task Force on Support to Asian and Asian American Students and Scholars and attend the upcoming Annenberg Community panel discussion on anti-AAPI sentiment and violence.

In solidarity,
The Faculty of the Annenberg School for Communication
